Show Synopsis:
Brooklyn Mecca, a monthly dance event that advances the cultural heritage of Africa through House Music, hosts its second annual dance showcase on Saturday, November 17 and Sunday, November 18, 2007. The showcase will continue to highlight a new art form, known as Afro-House Dance, which has evolved out of the fusion between traditional African dance forms and the freestyle movements of House Dancers. Brooklyn Mecca Dance Showcase will feature the most influential companies and soloists emerging from New Yorks's underground scene, as well as established acts that are firmly rooted in the African dance tradition.
